Over the Past week I got the opportunity to meet and walk with Phil, the English Pointer.
Phil is very lucky to have an energetic Mum who normally is able to take Phil for his usual regular walks, but was on the "injuries-bench" for a lil while, so I was lucky to get to meet him.
Phil was very protective of his home and Mum at first, but before we left the yard he was leaning all over me wanting more ear scratches and pats so we got on well, pretty quickly.
Phil is a lanky boy, and has a stride that I was scared I wouldnt be able to keep up with, but we settled into a great walk. I got to walk Phil a few times, and we covered more and more ground each time.
Phil is a smart boy very alert and especially happy to see kids. He amused me by his interest in Pigeons. He likes to point them out to me as we go along. He was a little worried at first around other dogs, but he soon learned I wasnt going to let any silly dogs get in the way of our walk. We even made it to some water, but he wasnt so interested in a paddle or the ducks...he was too busy looking for pigeons!!
Hopefully I will get to see Phil again...
