Does your Dog Dig?
Does your Dog bark or howl constantly while you are at work?
Are they pacing a well worn path?

Some of these behaviours are because they are bored (amongst other natural reasons). So don't go too hard on your Hot-for-digging-Dog
Regular walking, puppy school, obedience classes, exercise and other challenges out of the yard will help reduce behaviours that aren't so helpful and develop others that are, like socialising, feeling comfortable with their human environment and have all the scent sniffing and sound scapes that surround them.
I know if i was at home all day in the yard I'd get bored! I would be such a gardener!
'... hey, you guys only get to do it on the weekend....so I thought I'd give you a hand...you can plant out that raised pile... and you can put a Ficus in here.... and that huge hole up the back... i though a dog wading pool would be nice, or a fish pond, either way, I'm easy!!...'.
Maybe I can help with the regular walks you already do..?
