What a beautiful morning it was this morning...the sun was out blue skies and a gusty cool breeze.
Phil and I set off to the cycleway, and headed towards the Golf driving range. I wanted to see how far we could go, so we headed off at a nice trot. I hadnt taken Phil this way before so it was all new to him.
We passed by some sheep, and then headed off the beaten track up a broad water course. Passed a lonely Bull and stopped to look at some birds. He even pointed out a family of magpies out for their morning feed.
Because of the wind today, Phils Snoz was in overdrive. Lots of scents in the wind. I often wonder what scents Dogs pick up, and what it tells them. We all know some smells bring us very fond memories and can even change our moods... (how happy are we when we smell baking!) so it must be very distracting to have such a keen sense of smell...i hope he had some happy thoughts! I swear he smiled a couple of times today!.
Phil really stepped it out (he always does) today, but would occassionally check in on me to make sure I was ok! Then he'd skip off to take the lead again... we passed a birds nest with a bird that was making some kind of strange call (I havent heard it before either) and he came back to make sure i was alright! after some reassurance, he trotted off again.
We passed a few cyclists and some walkers, Phil is a good Dog around people and doesnt really show to much interest as we'd keep walking by.
We covered a lot of ground today. I think Phil can do even more really We did about 6 km, which is a personal best for Phil... I dunno if I can keep up!
Well done Phil!
