Today I set a pretty good goal... to try and get to the Japanese Gardens and maybe even across to the river... I don't like to keep my fur friends out too long over the stated return time... so we had a big job ahead.
All in all we actually made really good time and only took about five mins longer. So once again Phil's leggy stride is up for anything I throw at him... he must have been giggling to himself with our first walks,'...is that all you got mike...?'
As i have said before, Phil loves pointing out Pigeons. He started pointing and did a crouch... i crouched with hime and i asked him, '... what was it?...
He was very happy to show me, as he stalked the pigeons and i said lets get 'em... he bounded off...to the leash length of course ( i like birds, even pigeons) and he was so happy with himself
We kept going and did a back-street shuffle to a place I knew had some guard geese and I thought id show Phil some really big birds! These geese are free to roam and dont have a big fence or anything... we could have stepped over the "fence" that was there.
Phil was very interested and got a whiff of them as he poked his nose through the low gate. We were there for a little while as another family with a Dog came up and they all said hello. The geese came towards us...they'd probably had enough of Gawkers! As they did, Phil started backing away... he's so very brave! I wasnt so keen on a whole gaggle of geese honking at me so we took off towards the River.
We made it to the Japanese Gardens and went across to the river. The local ducks were there, but they know that local dogs are always interested so they swam across the other side. Phil was interested and was happy to watch and keep his feet dry.
He's such a sensible boy!
We headed off home over the halfway point and still made it home only a little over scheduled arrival. I think Phil has reached my fatsest up hill speed! He'll be walking me soon...whew!'
