Phil walks over 30km's...!

Today, before we started, I got to give Phil a Certificate for walking more than 25Km (today we passed the 30km mark!). Something to add to Phil's photo album. Well done Phil!

It was pretty cool when we headed off this morning, lots of icy grass even though the sun was out and the skies were blue. Even though I picked pathways to avoid the crispy frozen grass Phill kept walking in it. Must have felt funny between his paws, as he kept doing it. It also made a cool noise as we crunched through

We went towards the Dog park and along the levee to a point that I thought might access the river. I'd always wanted to see what it was like. So Phil and I headed down to the river. This was a section a couple of Km's down from the Riverside Park, so we had the lil beach to ourselves.

I didnt expect Phil to go in, but we went straight in and paddled about. He probably would have gone in deeper if i had a longer lead... but he wrigled about paws in the sandy bottom. He was in long enough for me to get a couple of Happy snaps too!

We walked off up to the levee and followed that around and got to a paddock with some horses. He was happy that they were a little way away, so was content to have a look at them from afar. He also spotted some pigeons, so he was all tail wags about that.

We followed the cycle way to where he first met some horses a few weeks ago. Along the way we met a couple of local dogs and said a brief hello. The horses saw us coming and came walking up. I took a pic as close as Phil would get... i am sure he was thinking,'...take the pic, take the pic...we can go now...!'

The horses were interested in Phil but he was happy to keep moving.

We also got to stalk up on some blue Herons. He hasnt been interested in many big birds, but these ones got his attention.

We headed off home and we only took 15 mins longer than planned... it was a hike today. Go Phil!
