Muriel was happy to see me again today and was very patient while her mum and I had a chat.
I had hoped to make it all the way to the river today, so we set off at a trot. We got to see some people and other dogs out in the morning sunshine, and kept along on our way. Passing horses in a paddock and a few inquisitive dogs in yards.
We were making such good time that we headed for a point in the river that gives good access to a couple of small pools as well as a trickle of water over rocks.... very pleasant!
We all know Muriel is a very clever girl. She has a lot of places she goes and has different activities she does when she is there. We got down to the water and she walked into the water, then stopped... and looked at me with this, '...Well?..' kinda look. She was willing me to go get a stick that her mum usually gets and throws in the shallow pools.... but i didnt understand! She tried very hard to tell me, but i just wasnt getting it!
When we got home i asked her mum about this and she said she normally throws her a stick to fetch...
Ok Muriel... i now know what that look means.... guess where we are going again next time!? Get ready for wet paws...
