Scarlett and I headed off for our walk in the early afternoon, so it was a hot one! We'll probably hold off til later in the afternoon, for future walks.
Even though it was quite warm we were able to find shade under trees and have a rest and a drink. Even though it was quite hot, Scarlett kept skipping along. Told you she was a tough girl, not a word of complaint, just happy to walk along side of me.
As we walked along, I would pick out nice shady trees with fluffy grass and no spikeys such as bindis and catseyes. Some of "My" Dogs are onto me and know that mike can't walk past a cool shady tree on hot days!. Scarlett is another of them now... even though we haven't walked together for long, but she was able to pick some good spots. The pic above is one she picked out. Clever girl!
We walked along the river using paths and sticking to shorter grass. Shade hopping as we went. We walked under the bridge and continued along. At the halfway point we shaded up and I offered a drink, but Scarlett wasn't thirsty...
After a rest we headed home and kept to the shade when we could. Scarlett was very interested in some Kids and a mum in a park, as well as the cyclists and walkers we passed. Such a friendly girl.
Scarlett picked the last shady tree spot after which we scooted home.
I am certain Scarlett took a big drink and had a rest in the shade when I left!
Well done Scarlett, you're a tough girl!
