Phil 23: Mike 1

I know it's not a competition, but I'll take any win I can!

I think I pooped Phil out today... when i left he was laying near one of his water buckets, on the cool cool tiles!

He was wagging his tail and looked pretty happy, so we went well today.

We headed off at a pretty fast clip, and going through my head when I'd look at Phil's stride, was, I think I peaked too early!

I think I measured his steps and it's like 10cm longer than mine!... I mean I'm only a shorty, but stil, not a bad step measurement.

I wanted to see how long the grass was at one of my favourite watercourses. It was mostly long, but there was a mown strip still not too long at the back of some houses. We followed that down halfway along and the strip disappeared... so we headed back the way we came.

I clicked off a few pics along the way and all was pretty good.

It wasnt too hot today but we did punch it along in the first half, so we were both pretty hot. I always check in with my team and Phil was actually cool, he was panting but he was just charging along. We had a drinks break and Phil was off.

What was funny, was that maybe about 3/4 along the way, Phil's tongue was hangin out! My goodness! he rarely breaks a "sweat", he's pretty fit. One of the last stops we made in the shade... I asked Phil, How you doin... and then he just laid down!

Wow! Phil was pooped... but i went over to give him a pat and he's like... you never saw that... But I did...I even took the photo!

So Phil is like 23 up...and i'm calling 1 small win...on a technicality.

Big effort to day Phil... those cool tiles looked like the place to be when we got back...
