It was a bright sunny day that Billy and I set off on our walk today. So plan A was to stick to the shade where we could. So we zigged and zagged through the backstreets where Billy lives and followed the trees and the shade they cast.

As always, Billy was full of love from the welcome to the stops along the way, though we did skip along as we smelled the roses as we went. No matter how much I see my Dogs interacting with the world outside the yard, I am still fascinated by what the heck goes through my teams mind, senses and physiology. I watch some of them and their whole body tenses and relaxes as they search the ground or trees for irrsistable scents. Sometimes to the distraction of all else they follow the scents!

We jumped through an alleyway and connected with a nice parkland and followed that to our first drink and rest stop. Billy stretched out and enjoyed the cool grass and had a big drink as well.

Wee headed off up the hill as part of the loop and made our way home. We stopped at the top of the hill for a second rest and drink break, which I am certain Billy appreciated looking at his reluctance to leave…so we stayed a little longer!

We made it home after a pretty good walk that was a nice workout and Billy was happy to flop in the shade. Big effort Billy!
