Zoe and Joe: Must… smell… plant…!

Todays walk with Zoe and Joe was a bit of an epic! We really covered some ground. The sun wasn’t out but the light cloud over head kept it hot and humid… even at 9:00! But we made it with the shadey stops we could get and Zoe and Joe drank almost 2 litres out there! Theu did so well!

We started off with a bit of a plan to do a loop that involved one of my fave watercourses. It had been mowed so that was pretty awesome (I’d checked on my way to Zoe and Joes place!) but we got to the top of the water course in like minutes! So I though we’d include the loop up another watercourse that I like.

Along the way, as always, I was entertained by the antics of my two Boxers! Wheter it was Joes strident interest in the wagtail (he’s never been interested in them before, a few weeks ago it was cars going to a farm!) flitting about us as we climbed a hill. But I went with it… oh, wheres the wagtail Joe?!

But zoe brought me to tears (with laughter) today! So joe was like lemme look at the wag tail, lemme look at the wag tail, lemme look at the waaagtail! So that was pretty funny, and Zoe was sniffing along. We got to the top of the hill and Joe was having a sniff abour that involved standing by a tree. But the scent Zoe was on was so interesting, she was nose down and flitting about to see where it went…

Apparently it went right under Joe and up the tree he was standing near. Soe she was head down walked under Joe Lifted him off the ground she scooched down crawled and came out the other side to the tree! It was hilarious as Joe never even tried to move and Zoe was so scent driven… she never does that!

So we did manage to head off after I stopped laughing. We had a couple of shade stops and a water break… we had another one at a nicer shady spot and then walked even more and had another water and rest break. Joe was picking a lot of shady spots!

We were pretty pooped for a while there… but as we got closer to home they sped up!

We all totally flopped in the shade and I hung out with Zoe and joe for a while just to make sure they drank lots and had some cool shade…. I wanted to play under the hose but Joe didn’t show any interest all and Zoe was too busy wanting pats!

Big walk today guys… well done!
