I arrived at Scarlett’s house and again she gave me her very talkative welcome. It makes me very happy to have my arrival marked by a happy tail-wagging excited talking Puppy!
We started off by slogging up one of my fave watercourses… well I slogged, Scarlett was more pitter-pattering her way up the hill! I seriously think of Scarlett as some sort of Elven Dog! She doesn’t mind prickly grass and rocky paths and is cool as a cucumber even when it’s warm out. I picked a shady spot and sat down, to see how Scarlett was doing… of course, she nudged me a couple times as if to say, ‘… what have we stopped for?’
We made such good time I was thinking we could have gone down another of my regular watercourses. But I was worried we might not make it back in time…so we zigged and zagged and came out at the bottom of the watercourse (we could have made it easy… Scarlett is a quick-light-stepper!
We stopped in the shade a few times once ½ way up the first watercourse, another in the shade for a rest and water break in another park and then again at the 2/3rds mark! Scarlett, despite all the walking and the warm weather wasn’t thirsty at all. She was one cool puppy as the breeze was pretty nice today and kept us cooler.
We saw a few people out walking and some had other Dogs. Scarlett is very well behaved and likes to keep going, once she’s had a look. There was a lot to smell today. We stopped a few times to smell the roses, so I am sure Scarlett had a great time.
Scarlett has covered a lot of kilometres in only a short time…well done Scarlett!
