Today Scarlett and I stuck to one of the cycleways and headed out along it to see what we could find.
Scarlett always sets a nice pace and as she cruised along, I was working up a sweat! It wasn’t all jogging along. Scarlett loves to keep a nose out for interesting things and sometimes follows her nose…and so do I! I like “my” dogs to just have fun and do what they like (mostly!... we always have a mission, and that’s to cover some ground too). Scarlett is easy to walk so that’s always nice.
So we went up along the cycleway and had a rest and drinks stop. Scarlett is never thirsty, but I always offer. Just in case. We had two drink stops, but again, not required. She did have a little stretch out on the grass, so the rest was welcome.
On the first break, I saw some cattle out in a paddock I haven’t seen livestock in before, so that was new for me. There were a bunch of Cows about and some calves. The mums just chilled away from the fence and the kids were playing by the fence… we tried to slowly walk up on the kids but they were a little skittish and trotted baclk to Mum. We got a little closer to another couple but they too trotted off.
Scarlett was very quiet around the cattle, she was a little wary when the calves trotted away, so we headed off and then headed back for home.
Scarlett is always nice and calm, and when we stop for rests she loves the pats I give out. She is a very affectionate girl. Good walk today Scarlett…I bet you had a big drink after I left today. See you next time.
