A great start to the day begins with Muriel

Muriel and I have a nice routine now. We have walked together now for almost 100km…can you believe it!
Muriel is no spring chicken, but she loves her walks and gets all antsy and underfoot if she doesn’t get to go for a walk. We take it nice and easy and Muriel sets the pace. She is a fast walker by nature and she forgets that she should take it slower, but she has an intermittent slower walk.
Whenever I offer stops for rests and water, she is always keen to keep moving and doesn’t like to dilly dally! Muriel is always polite and takes a few “sips” of water but I think that’s just to humour me.
Muriel is a great walker, she doesn’t get distracted by others too much, she doesn’t stir up other dogs or anything like that. She is a Labrador, so her sense of smell for food is very keen, but she doesn’t let too many scents distract her too often.
Today we mostly stayed on paths and followed a cycle way there and back again. Today I took a few photos of Muriel. Its funny… we rarely stop for very long, so most of my Pics of Muriel are ones from behind… not very flattering for a girl, but she really likes to lead the way… I have to run backwards to take head-on pics…and even I’m not getting any younger, so I try not to do that too often!
It was a nice walk, though we didn’t find as much shade as I like, but we still motored along. It’s great to have my morning walks with you Muriel…good effort!
