As a brother and sister team Zoe and Joe are great to walk with. I have never seen them short with each other and they share everything so nicely. No pushing and shoving at meal time (I have done some check-ins with them) and no niggle at the water bucket. Such well behaved kids they are!
You all know that I get my team members to stop and shade up and have a drink if they want one. Zoe and Joe are well aware I am a soft touch with rest breaks! They try and stop in the shade just to see if I’ll stop…but we always get to were we need to for “official” rest breaks. I always pick a nice spot for some rest and play.
Joe is pretty clever and sometimes he tells me where to stop,’…Oi, Mike! I think here is a great place!... Zoe is even starting to crash-dive into cool wet shaded grass and soak up the cool water and have a shake! Thanks for that Zoe!
Once again, we walked a familiar path today. Just taking advantage of the short grass while we can.
Zoe and Joe were happy to see me and lately I have been getting them out the door as soon as I can. Today we made it out very quickly…but they both let me know they weren’t quite finished with the welcome. We made it about 100m down the path when they went, ‘… right we want more pats…’, so we did that and they both seemed satisfied that I had shared enough love with them! Funny kids!
Once again, we bolted and were making pretty good time. Zoe and Joe were good at finding all the shady walking , but there were still some open areas that made it pretty warm.
Zoe led off with the first of the rest breaks by a dive into wet grass, so I went with it and called a drinks break. As always, Zoe and Joe drink a lot and they had a good rest and roll.
We got half way up one of the watercourses I like and called,’…shade shade…’, and we all flopped in the cool grass. Both my Boxers were very huggy today. Zoe always tries to share the love, but even today Joe was like, ‘…hey I want belly rubs too…’
We headed for home making good time and on arrival had a rest in the shade and the cool concrete. As always, great walk Zoe and Joe.
