You all may know by now that Billy is one of my casual boys. Nothing much phases him. Sure I have heard him do a ,’…back in ya box, mate…I’m out here and youre in there so be quiet…’ Barks (just a couple) and we move along! He has an ear piercing sharp bark…definitely not yappy, but where ever his bark comes from…you could separate atoms with it!
So the wind was up today so sometimes some of my team get a bit antsy, Billy is usually excited but not overly so.
We headed off and passed two dogs secured in their yard, when they saw Billy they started barking and Billy looked at me and I just said,’…nah mate lets keep going…’! just as he turned around to walk on, the two yarded Dogs started fighting each other for the rights to bark at Billy!
Billy replied with his back-in-ya-box-mate bark and we kept on…but Billy was now pretty excited… then Billy bolted for a bush (he can be quick as lightning sometimes) in went Billy tail deep in the shrubbery and out rocketed a cat… I couldn’t tell you what colour it was… it was movin so fast!
So then Billy was as stirred up as he has ever been. It took to about the ¼ mark before we settled in…oh…did I mention the sheep? But they ran away way before we got close…but he could smell them.
We followed our fenceline walk to take a peek at the goings on at the building site… lots of trucks and grader activity…I wanted to take some pics with Billy and some kinda plant in the back ground… you know manly man things! But Billy is hard enough to happy snap without him getting antsy, so we had to make do with an old water truck!
We stopped at the halfway stop and had a drink and by this time Billy was all settled in…he was now stopping me for pats, so he was back to his usual self!
It was a warm day out there, and that wind kicked up a lot of smells and dust, but Billy went well…Next time I will have to look harder for cats!
