Billy, like many of my team, have a number of walks we can do from his place. We can zig and zag and end up from farmland to cycleways, back street shuffles and parklands walks. Depending on the day we can chose any which-way!
I took Billy out a bit later than usual today so it was a bit warmer than usual. So I thought we’d pick as nice a shady walk with green grass to rest up on. I think Billy knew from the beginning as he’d stop me in shady spots for a pat (on the way home he’d stop me and we’d both sit in the shade). We had a few rest stops and a few water breaks. Billy isn’t a big drinker but he drank more than usual today.
He did like some of the shady spot we chose as it gave him a good view of folks using the park and some with their Dogs. Billy was a bit excited when one walker and their dog came by us… but it was too hot to be barky…hey Billy!?
We still covered some good kilometers and most of it was shaded, so that was pretty nice. We got to a pond and saw ducks. But we didn’t go swimming. This pond is a bit smelly! Billy didn’t seem to mind when he was stretched out in the grass. At one of the stops I got up and said, ‘…lets go…’ and Billy looked up at me trying to con me into staying longer…so I sat back down…Billy has me trained well.
We did eventually make it home and had a good walk in the process.
Nice one Billy see you next time.
