Zoe and Joe are such smart cookies

So you all know I love my time with all of “my” Dogs. They all have their lil nuances and interests. Some have had to be adaptable along the way. Especially when I forget things!

A lil while ago, I forgot my water dish while walking Billy and he was able to drink out of my cupped had as I poured. Today, I did the same thing and forgot my cool lil collapsible water dish (they are very handy everyone should try one out!) It was right where I left it on the dish drying rack after a rinse, scrub and a nuking…all dry and safe at home!

What to do, what to do?

I can be a little resourceful and a lil creative at times (all that outdoors survival stuff I used to do!) so I was scratching my head with what to do…?

I devised a cunning plan… though it would take a few minutes of Zoe and Joe sitting patiently while I did some arts and crafts….! They weren’t so much into the arts and crafts, but they were keen as always, that as soon as I sat down…they’d dive bomb me and share the lovin!

So in between body slams and thwacks with wagging tails I managed to get my handy dandy multi-tool out… cut a dish shape out of a water bottle I had, whilst staving off Zoe and Joe at the same time! I think they worked out what I was doing and called a truce and away we went. I had some impromptu arts and crafts and zoe and Joe got a “kong-like” water dish to have a drink from!

They did very well at drinking over 1.5 litres and managed to do it out of a very small “dish”!

Good going today Zoe and Joe… next time I will try and remember the water dish…Sigh!
