Today I was able to sneak up on Phil, he didn’t hear me come in so he was all happy and excited when the door opened, ‘… yeah Phil, I’m glad to see you too!’
Phil is lucky enough to have some very close family nearby, so I am sure he got spoiled and stayed up late to share in the Christmas cheer. He is such a social butterfly.
I had a bit of a plan today but we made such good time, I had to keep adding “dog-legs to the journey. Somehow we managed to really skip along… Phil is like that… we got to where I wanted to get to and we needed to add an extra leg. We walked to one of the nice family friendly parks and had a little walk around and a play. It was very early so no one was around. We climbed over some “rocks” and followed the winding paths and even saw a crocodile and a few Dinosaurs… as you do!
We also went to the miniature train and walked the lines all over the place. I hadn’t been there before, so it was all new to me. Phil, being a local, had been there a few times, so he showed me around. I will have to try and get there when the trains are running… looks like fun.
After following the train tracks we did a loop that took us back to the park, then we did a series of dog-legs as no matter when I looked at my watch we seemed to be eating up the kilometers.
I thought adding some hills might slow Phil down, but he seemed to just cruise along…as for me…well they slowed me up!
Today we didn’t do much sticky-beaking into peoples yard’s…of course there were a couple, but what we lacked in agapanthas and cordylines to peek at we made up in spades with the number of pigeons Phil saw…he had a ball today! He was very excited and bounced about when we’d see some. He even had a couple of barks at some as they flitted safely away! Phil never barks, when he’s excited I have heard him talk… so he was very happy today letting his hair down bouncing about after birds!
We headed home and made very good time. The nice cool weather suits Phil just fine, he wasn’t pooped when we got home despite all his bounciness over the pigeons…. Hmmm… I’ll have to plot out a longer walk next time Phil!
