This was the first walk of the New Year and it was good to see Phil all bright and chipper this morning. It was a slow start for me this morning, but a walk with phil is always a good remedy for slow Sunday mornings!
I had a bit of a plan to do a big loop that took in the dog leg of the highway and see how we went. I also remembered a property I wanted to take a “walk-by” so Phil and I had a nice long sticky-beak at that… coincidentally there were a couple more on our walk. It was pretty funny as Phil caught on and thought we should take a peek at even more than usual gardens and front yards.
Though, Phils searches were bird related, so he was pretty happy about that. We got to see a few pigeons and even a few lil finches that were flitting about and caught Phil’s attention.
It wasn’t all that hot out, so I was glad we made an early start, but it was quite humid. At our drink stop under a shady tree, Phil took a big drink... he doesn’t always drink at our drinks stops, so it was thirsty work. He was also very affectionate today too. When we stopped and he’d had a drink, he was all in my face and nudging me for more pats. Its always nice to share in the love!
When we arrived at home, Phil had a couple of big drinks and a flop on the cool tiles, but he was revived enough to come out and lean all over me, again, sharing the love. Sometimes I forget how big and strong Phil is… his leaning was pushing me off balance! Yes Phil I think you’re pretty tops too!
Yet another nice long walk today and Phil has started off the New Year by passing 140km! Good Job Phil!
