It’s been a little while since I got to take Zoe and Joe for a walk. With all their family home they were kept busy with Christmas and New Year!
I was pretty excited to see them again, as you know they always give me a great welcome and we shared lots of pats and scratches to say hello. We put collars and leads on and we were off. It took Zoe and Joe a little longer to settle in for all the happy welcomes, but I was pretty happy to see them too!
Zoe and Joe were eager to hit the road and we pretty much stepped it out and we got to cover 3 of my favourite walks. We scooted downhill through a watercourse and the ever vigilant Joe spotted the horses before I did. Zoe was hanging back with me and didnt really take that much notice. Its always nice to have the walk to ourselves and our early start ensured we had the place to ourselves.
We made such good time that I knew we’d have to cover the extra parkland we sometimes use to access other areas. We stopped for a rest and a drink, and Zoe was climbing all over me with tail wags and attempted licks. She did land a few…Thanks for that Zoe…I like you too. Joe was even leaning in on me and enjoyed the pats too.
The second watercourse was recently mown, so it was walking in golf course like conditions. The open space has some nice shady trees along the way so we had a rest in one of those.
We got to walk halfway along the next park and we got our feet wet just a little as the grass was a little longer and still had the morning dew.
It was really great to see my two Boxer friends again. Did you know Zoe and Joe will steam past 220km?! That’s an amazing effort!
