Every now and then I get to walk with some mates who usually have the walking, play, training and general full-on entertainment all sorted. So its only on special occasions that I get to walk with them.
Digger is a great girl and has been working on some lessons and you can really tell she has been learning a lot. She is a clever and very inquisitive one and always likes to try and find new very small friends. You know like lizards and bugs. She always has an ear out!
Digger was the first of the early morning walks and as always she had a little stretch-out at the gate as I arrived. So it was tail-wags and a happy face as I walked in the yard. We quickly got ready and set off into the long morning shadows.
We made our way pretty quickly, as usual, and scooted along and crossed a big open parkland and then joined onto a cycleway. Along the path we got to see a few people out walking and a couple of friendly dogs too. We followed the path for a good while and did a big loop along a main road and then zigged and zagged through some alleyways to another watercourse.
For much of the way, Digger got to scent out goodness knows what…here nose was always busy and sometimes you can never tell what it is she is looking for… bugs, beetles crickets or lizards. (and no, she doesn’t eat them…she just likes to find them… maybe they smell funny! She is very intent on finding things in her yard and can stare and sniff for ages and entertain herself!
After a big loop we headed for home and a bit of a drink. Nice walking today Digger, let me know when you need an outing, always happy to help!
