Jumping small creeks with Phil

In a former life I was lucky enough to work in such remote areas, that I was able to step over the head-waters of a number of major rivers. Today, Phil and I stepped over a small runoff creek!
Although we were pretty much in the middle of suburbia, the first part of our walk took us past some pastureland and they had a few drainages that were running. I jumped over a wider part (I was too lazy to walk upstream!) and Phil looked at me like, ‘… I can’t jump that!...’ I was all encouraging but he wouldn’t be in it! I guess the take-off was a bit muddy so I could sympathise, ‘..what if I slip?, I’ll get wet feet!’
So we walked up a little way and Phil was happier with that. Just as I was starting to think… you big woozy…didn’t wanna get your feet wet…he walked straight into a big puddle and splashed about! So it must have been that the water was trickling and burbling away?...who knows?
I had planned on crossing the road to do another walk, but there was so much Monday morning traffic that we just kept on the way we were going. We did finally make it to the cycleways and we just followed one after the other. It was actually a nice pleasant walk once our feet dried off, plus we could see the rain shadows off to the mountains, so we took the sunshine when we could get it. Phils not a fan of rain… very sensible really, so I was with him on that one.
We were only halfway up this pathway when I realised we only had 15 minutes to get home! Sometimes its kinda like that. My Dogs and I just keep following our noses and time slips away! But we booked it home and zigged and Zagged our way home making up time as we went.
We made it home on time and Phil didn’t seem to be too pooped, but he was panting away for a little while…so it must have been that fast finish to cross the line that did it! Good walk today Phil…well done!
