Aren’t I just the luckiest? A birthday breakfast with Ninja, Jack and Abi and a nice post breaky stroll with my mate Billy!
It was a very happy and affectionate Billy that greeted me when I opened the gate today. We sat in the sunshine for a lil while and enjoyed some ear scratches and pats. ‘…Enough of the Love-in Billy… lets go for a walk!’, ‘…sure, great idea…where to?’, ‘…how ‘bout we check in and see if there’s water in the pond?’ , ‘…AWESOME idea!!’ Billy is like that, every walk is awesome as far as he’s concerned!
I wanted to see if our local council had closed the gate on the pond to let it fill, but sadly they hadn’t. I really enjoyed the pond and it is central to a few of my team’s walks. It’s always just nice to have a water destination! I think Billy gets his fill of river visits with his family…so he’s not missing out. The other day his coat looked particularly fresh after a dip!
So we headed off a little earlier than we have of late. I was able to start pretty early with my breakfast team so Billy got to walk in the cool of the day. Billy is always keen on walking, no matter the temperature and we still stopped in the shade and had a drink at the “pondless park”.
Billy and I also got to see a few people out and about with their fur-family friends. Billy doesn’t get too excited when people keep to themselves, though he’s not a fan if his personal space is invaded. We did meet up with some regular space invading silly dogs and Billy did really well. Don’t worry mate…they annoy me too! We just kept on going, with Billy just making sure they were going away.
We got home, and once again, due to the cooler start, Billy still had some beans left in him as he ran up and down the fenceline with his rope shaking it like a snake and throwing it around… I love seeing Billy be silly! See you next time Billy!
