Billy: Clocks 200!!

Today, Billy clocked up just over 200km! Can you believe it? Judging by the ball of energy I left behind today.... we need another 200 just to put a dent in Billy!

Billy was all ready and waiting for me when I walked down his drive today. Sometimes I think I catch him out napping… but today he was looking for me as I walked up.

I always love the welcome I get from Billy. I have been sitting down with him and sharing pats and scratches… he seems to like a nice start to the walk.

Today I was just going to stick to a long cycleway walk and see how far we’d get. No real destination in mind except out, stop under some shady trees for a drink, and then home again.

We were scooting along at Billys brisk pace and along the way I was thinking that we were in an urban jungle! The grass to the sides of the pathway was actually quite tall. I don’t usually care about that stuff, but if we weren’t walking on the cycleway, I wouldn’t be walking in grass that long with my team members…just to be on the safe side… so it was a bit long. As we walked along, right on cue… the team from BRC were out n about with tractors and ride ons, edgers and brush cutters… I have no idea how they keep up with the grass cutting.

So that was nice that they were out doing all that. What was even nicer, was our drinks break spot had a nice freshly mown surface and that cut-grass smell. The magpies were out catching all the bugs and Billy was watching them hunting, very attentively! He is such a bright boy is Billy… don’t be fooled by his casual nature… he has a clever gleam in his eye!

After our nice grassy stop…we headed home again, making good time. Once again, we got home and Billy was into throwing his rope toys around and running about with them… I didn’t even have to throw them… Its nice to get home in the cool of the day… though I am still going to have to try and walk further… can have you coming home with lots of energy left over? Can we Billy?
