Although not the first walk this year, it is the first of the year from the comfort of her own home!
….annnnd did you know that Muriel has walked over 100km with me? That is just a Massive effort for my girl Muriel! It just shows how much you can do with regular relatively easy walks. I say relatively, as Muriel is a great walker and she is no spring chicken. Muriel has a cadence all of her own. She jogs along like a young pup, then walks then jogs again… it’s a very didtance eating pattern of walking that she has… she is just tireless!
Also to add to just how nimble Muriel is… when I turned up for our walk this morning, she was a bouncy as I have ever seen her! Running in and out of the house, skidding on mats and running out to me… it was hilarious! Muriel isn’t one of my crazy team members, but it just shows we all have our days!
The other funny thing was that in the time it took to say hello, watch her go nuts and give her back scratches, I was covered in Muriel fur and the ground around was covered in blonde Labrador fur! A second round of fur loss for the summer apparently… very hairy!
We started off at quite a clip and headed for the cycleways. There were a few cyclists and joggers out today. One even stopping for a pat. Muriel loves to meet new people, so she was pretty happy with random pats from random people!
We managed to walk up to where some horses hang out. They didn’t come and say hello, so we just passed on by. We went a little beyond the halfway point and turned about and headed home. We stopped for a drink, Muriel only took a small drink and we toddled off.
It felt like we walked home much slower than the walk out, but we made great time on the return! I honestly thought we’d be a bit late! See!... Muriel can easily eat up good distances.
It was great to get such a nice welcome today Muriel, and well done on the 100km!
