A personal best for Phil!

Today I planned to take Phil on a long walk. I needed some Phil-time and he was very happy to oblige! We did a couple of personal bests along the way!

Phil has been a regular now for a while. So we have covered some miles together. Can you believe he has now walked well over 150km! That’s massive…and his daily average is not to be sneezed at. Its that long lopey stride he has…it always tests me out!

Not only did he step out over the 150km mark, but he also walked over the longest distance we have walked together. So it was a very eventful mornings walk!

We headed off to one of the cycleways and followed that for a while then scooted in amongst the shade of some trees. It wasn’t all that hot this morning and was actually quite cool earlier. But the lil avenue of trees is one of my faves. Zoe, Joe and I walk it sometimes, but I don’t know if Phil and I have walked along this section.

We made it all the way to where the cycleway cuts back towards our path and crossed the road. Phil and I haven’t walked along that side of the road either, so a lot of the walk had some new sights and smells.

I offered Phil a few shady stops along the way, but he was all keen to keep going and see what else was “just around the corner”, so we just marched on! We eventually got to sections we often loop around and headed for home.

We got home and Phil only had a small drink…so I was happy about that. I was thinking if he wasn’t too thirsty, it was a good solid walk! But then he crashed on the floor a pretty pooped Phil!

Well done on the 150 km’s and on the big walk today!
