One of the many fun things I get to do is do some check-ins, where I feed, play and get to hang with your pets. Rose has been one of my check-in team.
Rose is a 1 year old Ridgeback. She has a very lovely nature, but can seem pretty ominous protecting her territory. Rose could have been a bit of a challenge, as we didn’t get to meet before we started the check-ins. Normally I like to meet my new friends while their family is around just to reduce any stress.
For our first meeting Rose was very protective of her yard but I said hello and even offered some bribes. Rose is a clever girl and didn’t take food from strangers so at least she got to smell me a little.
I was very brave and went in and just sat down in a nice open space and called her a few times and she came over and checked me out. A few pats and back scratches and we were mates. So we had lots of belly rubs and pats while sitting on the trampoline. A little while later I added the food to her bowl and topped up the water and that sealed it…I was a good guy after all!
We got to play fetch, did some play tag and tug-o-war and generally ran about. So it was a nice few days I got to spend meal times with Rose. Yet another new fur-friend to add to my team. It was nice meeting you Rose!
