You all may know by now, its been a bit rainy and stormy the past little while. So I wasn’t so keen on going out in the rain. But after getting soaked while doing a taxi run with Sammy and Diesel I thought, ‘…how much wetter can I get?’ So it was off to Billy’s place!

The rain had eased of slightly when I finally got to Billys place. I was supposed to meet him earlier in the day, but I chickened out and hoped for the rain to hold off later.

I always like to think I am a fair and reasonable guy. I always listen to what my team wants, and I think I mostly get it right. Now, I see Billy as being pretty tough. He’s pretty much up for anything. But I still thought I’d ask. So when I got to Billy’s place and it was still raining, we sat under the verandah out back and had a discussion.

We mostly put forward the pros and cons of going out in the rain. The main con, that I came up with was that we’d get wet… ‘well duh!’, said Billy. We did feel that the general benefits of going for a walk outweighed that of staying home all snug and dry. I said, ‘..I’m game if you are,’…Billy said, ‘…I will if you will…’ So it was decided.

We headed off into the light rain… there was no denying…we’d be soaked. But by the highly held tail and proud steps, Billy was more than happy with our choice. So I laughed at him, he looked at me like I was crazy, and away we went.

I wanted to see if my fave lil pond had any water in it, but the council hadn’t closed one of the drains off, so there was no pool to swim in. But was made do with what we could find. There were a few big puddles that we got to play in. Billy of course could barely be restrained from going in so he splashed about grabbing at the splashes as he went! He does love the water does our Billy.

So really getting wet wasn’t the issue we’d thought it would be. Along the way though we had a few big thunder claps and Billy wasn’t so fussed on those. But he was very brave and even gave a couple of Barks for it to go away. We sat together while a couple more claps went off, and he still wasn’t so keen. So we headed for home.

We got home and were both glad we decided to go out into the rain. There was lots to see and smell, and all the puddles you could jump in! Billy was in heaven!

Good choice to go out in it Billy! We should to that again soon!
