Today’s walk was the first time I got to hang with Leo and Sadie. I have been taking them to school over the past little while so we weren’t strangers. So it was a fun introduction-walk close to their local area that we did today.
It was very exciting for Leo and Sadie, they always have a nice welcome for me. We have a sit down and some back scratches til we were all settled, and then we headed off. Things are a bit exciting close to home, there are a few excitable fur-friend neighbours, but once we got clear, we practiced some of our lessons from school, and they did really well.
It was warm out so we took our time and walked in the shade when we could. We only stopped a couple times, once for a water break. Leo and Sadie seemed keen to keep going so we just plodded on. We didn’t quite get our routine down…I mostly only got pics of their butts as they steamed along! We didn’t drink much at all at the drink stop, but its all new, and a lot to take in, so I am sure once they know we have water breaks and shady rest stops they will settle in just fine.
We didn’t climb any big hills today and we mostly kept to the flat so we tried to keep it pretty easy. Though, there are some great hills and dales to climb up and clamber about. So Leo and Sadie will definitely get a work out!
We got to see a few yard-bound dogs along the way, and a couple of lucky Dogs and their owners out and about. We mostly kept to ourselves, Though I am sure Leo and Sadie would have liked to have said hello. We kept right on walking. They do like to take a peek in peoples yards and they both showed a particular interest in some Magpies. The magpies were low in a bush and making their chortle-noises and that seemed to have gained Leo and Sadies attention. Again, we kept on going, but nice to know for future reference!
Leo and Sadie loved their time out of the yard. There was lots to see and smell, and the exercise definitely left two puffed pooches! When we arrived home we had a big drink and flopped in two separate little piles in the shade on the verandah. So it was a big walk for our two staffies… see you again soon guys!
