There was no sneaking up on Zoe and Joe today! The past weeks I have been in the gate before they caught me… not today! We still had a great hello with a warm welcome…but we were quickly out the gate to see where we’d end up…
I didn’t really have a plan for where we’d go today…it was a case of see which parks were tall-grass-free and see how we went. As it happened, a park that we hadn’t walked in for a while was spick and span and all nicely mown… so we just turned off there without going too far.
So we walked up the pathway in amongst some shady trees and took in the sights and smells. It’s not often Zoe and Joe get excited but today we saw a cat! I hadn’t seen them around kittys before…I can’t remember seeing any with them. But basically we sat and stared very very intently, not knowing exactly what to do…! So we sat by, as a local cat stalked off to a good hiding place. Zoe looked at Joe, and Joe looked at Zoe, and they both looked at me like, ‘… did you see that…?’ yes guys I did…c’mon…I have a plan…
So as we walked through the park, I thought we might see if another park I discovered with one of my team, was all tall-grass-free, and it was! I hadn’t taken Zoe and Joe along this parkway before, so it was worth an explore with the twins. They were pretty happy to take a peek and see and smell whatever was about. They did a pretty good job, as there were a lot of fur-friends in yards along the way and we kept on going…even though a cute lil guy with a “bucket-head” really wanted to say hello…
We got to a nice shady spot and had a rest and drink break, as well of course, Zoe and Joe had a roll in the grass! They always seem so very happy when rolling about. I could watch them for ages.
But… we did have to get home sometime today, so we packed up and headed towards home. It seemed that with our long exploration walk and rolling about, we had forgotten the time and still had a long way to get back. Just as well we were able make use of some shortcuts we knew were about, so we made good time.
We arrived home pretty pooped. On a scale of “still-standing” to “floor-flopping” we were somewhere in the middle! But I just know that Zoe and Joe would be having a nice nap sometime soon! Good walking Zoe and Joe…see you soon…
