Hey everyone, this is Riley!

Today I got to meet the newest member of the Team, Riley. Riley is a very friendly little fella and was all tail wags and a nice hello for our first meeting. So we harnessed-up and headed off on a walk in areas he had been before. Riley was very happy to be heading off, it looks like he really enjoys his walks.

So we headed off for an exploration of some parks that he had probably been to before. We can’t head off in unfamiliar directions for the first time out. Plus we hadn’t met before, so we didn’t want too much stress.

It was a pretty warm day out there today, so we decided to stick to areas where there were lots of trees shading the way. Riley wasn’t too sure about this whole dog-walker thing so we headed for some shade and for some treats. You know, just a small bribe to show Riley it all wasn’t too bad. Getting outside, walking in the park and treats!

Riley seemed to like that, so we headed off for another couple of parks and inbetween we had a couple of drinks breaks. He seemed to pick up on the whole treats and drinks and shady grass rest stops….he’s pretty clever!

We looped around a park I know he is familiar with and then headed for a pond that isn’t too far away. I also discovered that Riley really likes Ducks! We were very happy to see lots and lots of ducks. Riley must like his birdwatching as we had some noisey Minahs and some magpies that caught his interest. Also, there was something very interesting in a tree that we spent some time trying to work out what, and where, whatever it was! So I am guessing maybe a birds nest or something caught his eye.

So after a nice casual introductory meeting and walk we headed off home after seeing lots of birds and seeing and smelling whatever else was about. I am pretty sure riley enjoyed himself, and although a little pooped by the time we got home, I am sure he’ll be happy to come out for a walk again. Hope to see you soon Riley….good job today!
