Zoe and Joe and fast Pit-stops

It’s amazing what a difference nice temperatures make for Dog walking! Today after our (not insubstantial) walk, both Zoe and Joe saw me off to the gate and wanting me to stay, or to go for more walks! As I drove off they were peeking through the gate latch hole, like I’d never taken them for a walk!
Zoe and Joe were onto me again today and had the welcome wagon going before I got out of the car! I was parked a couple doors down too! So we hitched up the leads and headed off. I wanted to check out a watercourse to see if it was manicured for us. So we scaled the hill and took a look down the park and it was a bit long for my liking so we continued on into the ‘burbs to see what everyone was up to.
It was pretty quiet for the most part and we got to walk on nicely manicured front lawns, so that was very nice on paws and old-man knees! What was funny though was the amount of flat tyres we had today. Now don’t get me wrong. Zoe and Joe are up there with the toughest of my team and we have had a puncture or two here and there. We spend a lot of time off piste and between Zoe and joe we have only had 1 or 2 catseye removals. Today Zoe had a paw full of bindiis and 2 nasty ol catseyes and Joe had 3 cats eye punctures! More than we have had in all the walks we have done!...and we were in the ‘burbs too!
So you never can tell where you’ll get a flat tyre! After 260km we have a good pitstop procedure and we were off in no time… the bindiis took a lil more time, but Zoe is tough and very patient as I pulled them all out. Joe is a bit of a softie and needs a lil more TLC, but we are always on the road quickly.
So even though we avoided the park with the catseyes… we still got some anyway! So we continued on our way, making sure everyone got off to work and school ok, We did stop for a drink, but even that was pit-stop fast. Again the cooler weather made for a lighter work load and for less thirsty work.
On the way home we avoided the problematic “pointies” and made it home without further punctures!
Usually when we get home its all melodramatic staggers to the water bucket and flops on the shady concrete… but Joe was trying to block my exit and trying to grab my feet, while Zoe ran interference circling around me! They are so funny!
Hey kids you’ve done 260 k’s… take a rest! See you soon guys and congratulations on the big effort so far!
