Leo and Sadie put in some hard work today!

Today Leo, Sadie and I started off with a nice settling-in walk. But we had to pass the noisy neighbourhood Dogs at some point. We went for a pretty nice walk and finally settled in, and then had to pass all our noisy friends again! So it was a case of excitement…easy calm walks and excitement again…

Leo and Sadie are lucky enough to live nearby a watercourse that I hadn’t explored yet, so off we went! My plan was to help Leo and Sadie settle in to our walk and then try passing the neighbours… but alas there were some crazy Dogs along the watercourse too, and, much to my disappointment the water course dead-ended so we had to come back the same way. So that plan was a bust!

So we headed off to one of my favourite walks over at the Big-Big school for some time out. Sadie and Leo had tried so hard and it took a lot of work, so they deserved a rest from all the distractions. So we pottered around on pathways and open space. Ahhh! Relaxing!

We saw a fair few birds today. I have noticed that both Leo and Sadie seem to take an interest in most birds, especially the Pee Wees and Magpies, but we disturbed a “herd of Galah”, that was feeding in the grass, a couple of times. We were following a path, and they’d take off, only to land beside the path again, and a few minutes later we disturbed them again. But they were happy enough to land further away this time and we headed off. Leo and Sadie seemed to like the Galahs a lot and loved them taking off, making their squarks and squeaks, and landing again.

On the way home we took a route through another open space I used to ride my Mtn Bike through, and the grass had been cut low so we went along the grassy pathway. Usually there are lots of Magpies in that area, but we didn’t see any nor did we get dive bombed, but I’m not sure that its that time of year yet.

After settling in and having a relaxing walk we had to pass all of our yarded friends again. I may have to try another way, so we can work on all those things we are learning at school.

Leave it with me guys… we’ll get you racking up those miles in no time…
