26.02.15 Diesel
Diesel is an old-hand at walking with me. He has been going to school and I thought I’d try him out on one of the walks we haven’t done for a while. It’s out along a quiet road and passes farms and sometime cows, sheep and horses. So we headed out that way for a look-see!
Diesel has been going to school, and school is on a short break at the moment, so I get to walk some of my team again. Diesel is one that has been working hard at school and its nice to see the dividends. There are a fair few distractions with other dogs along the way, and sometimes we see farm animals, so it would be good to see what he got up to. Basically he just skipped along, nose to the ground working hard and he’d look up or look back at me and we’d keep going.
We didn’t see any cattle where we some tiomes do… so there was just empty paddock in front of us. We got to where there are sheep sometimes, but they weren’t there either. We did see some far=dogs that always come to say hello. Sometimes they aren’t in much of a friendly mood… sometimes they are. Today they were happy to see Diesel so we stopped for a quick hello. I was hoping to see Diesels Horse-friends.
Like the rest of the paddocks no horses either. Everyone must be away safely at home to avoid storms and rain. Probably a good idea actually as there was some thunder this afternoon.
We we marched along and got to the section that is quite close to the road, and the graqss was long. I wasn’t too worried about snakes, but the tall grass was wet, so I wasn’t too keen on getting drenched from the waist down!
Diesel and I headed towards home, but we took a detour that took us zig-zagging about until we hit the busy road. Lots of traffic, noise, cars, trucks, road works and all that going on… but Diesel was just fine… nose down and trotting along at speed.
It was great to see you using some of your skills again today Diesel. Well done!
