Sammy

Sammy and I are exploring further and further from home. Today I incorporated walks where I knew some dogs would be as well as walking along a section of cycleway where we might encounter other Dogs having a walk with their owners too. As you may know Sammy can be very shy around new situations and we are taking it slow… but again she did really well!

So we headed off today with the destination of walking as far along a cycleway as we could. But first we headed off up the hill and crossed into a nice piece of open park land that we finished on the last walk we had. So as a starting point it was pretty familiar to Sammy. We even stopped under the pine trees to look at the pinecones we played with before!

This time we continued on, past the trees and headed towards a cycleway. Along that section there are some local neighbourhood Dogs. Some are a bit noisy, some are a bit more noisy than others! Sammy was interested in them all, but she showed great determination not to let them bug her too much and we just pressed on. She was more interested in the leafy debris that the rain washed down the park really, than her other four legged friends. So that was a win for Sammy and I.

We made it to the cycleway and headed along that. Normally there can be a few walkers taking their fur-family members for a walk, and I was hoping to see at least one group just to see how Sammy went if we just sat by and watched… No-one came along so we had the path to ourselves. We went along the path where earlier in the day Sam and I heard some frogs and we turned for home.

No one came along in the opposite direction, but we did have to pass the same noise-makers again. Sammy barely paid attention to them and we just strode by. Sammy is coming along so well!

Sammy has come so far in the time I have known her… keep it up girl!
