04.03.15 Snakes… the tally so far…

Just as a quick reassurance to those who are worried about snakes. So far, in the almost 1500 km’s I have done with my team, we haven’t seen a single snake!

Now I’m not saying there are no snakes, but what I am saying is, that my daily risk assessment and route selection is tailored to “my” dogs needs and abilities as well as consideration to environmental conditions like heat, cold, terrain and risks… like snakes… or roads or cyclists or cats-eye thorns!

So far, we have not seen any snakes, maybe, due to me taking into account all these factors on a daily basis.

I have seen things that I’d jokingly called for example “stick snakes”… you know those scary snakes that turn out to be a suspicious tree branch! So I have seen “running-birds-head snakes”, plastic-bag-snakes”, “irrigation-hose-snakes”, “weird-shadow-snakes”, “ rotten-cardboard-strip-snakes’… and so on. You get the picture? So I am definitely looking hard for my slithery friends, on behalf of my fur-friends!

Always on the lookout, but so far so good!
