05.03.15 Riley
Riley is such a serious boy when we walk. But today we had gone no further than a few hundred metres from home and he was diving in the cool grass of one of the parks, and rolling about… a roley-poley Riley!
Today I wanted to stretch Rileys legs a bit. See how far we could get. The route we took was mostly flat, and we followed a busy main road. I thought we might get to a main intersection if we tried. So destination in mind… off we went.
Riley is another of the team that no matter which way you turn, there is a nice walk ahead! So we headed for a nice open park, saw a lot of galahs and we even got “swooped” by a lone galah on its way to the flock! Well, Riley thought it came a bit close as he startled and almost did a perfect backflip!
But he couldn’t have been too scared (it did come close) as a few metres away, he dived into the heavily manicured, lush green grass for his own wriggly back scratch! I joined in with belly rubs and he seemed just fine!
As quick as he started the rolling… he was just as quick to get back up, shake off all the frivolity and get back to walking!
As I said, we were going for speed and distance today, just to see what we could do. We made it so easily that the next few walks I think we will easily cover more ground…if I can keep up that is!
Good job Riley…you looked like you enjoyed today’s walk, and weren’t too pooped when you got home!
