05.03.15 Sam
Today Sam and I headed off in a different direction and took a stroll in the countryside. No pathways, just fence lines and roadsides to follow! Lots of evidence of horses, sounds and smells, but we didn’t see many. We were happy with the nice walk anyway.
Most of my team live in areas that provide nice walks, no matter which way you go. It doesn’t matter if its around the block, around a park, along a cycle way or just down to the shops, any time out of the yard is a good time!
Sam was pretty excited to see me this morning, lots of tail-wags, and he was ready to get going as soon as possible. So we took off and headed for a country road I like to walk along. Even though it can be busy, it has nice roadsides to walk along with lots to see and smell.
Sam is a great lil guy and is a speedy walker so we scooted along pretty quickly! In fact we scooted along so well that we got to where the path narrows too quickl, so we headed back. I like a good bit of room between my team and cars where we can, so we followed our route that we took in.
On the way back we got to meet some kids and their dogs. Sam is always very sociable so I wasn’t too worried about him… but I often wonder about dogs off leash and how friendly they may be… we were lucky. Although they were a little exuberant they were pretty friendly.
So on getting back to our starting point we took a pathway in the opposite direction and headed along that so we could make up the “left-over” time that we had due to our speedy scooting!
We watercourse hopped and arrived home to have a splash in the pool and a bit of a drink. It was a nice cool morning so it wasn’t very thirsty work! Good job Sam.
