10.03.15 Riley

My lil mate Riley had somehow managed to escape from his yard today. When I pulled up and was loading my dog walking survival kit… I saw a big smiley face and a waggly tail… right along side my car door. Riley! What are you doing here!?

We went back inside and sat in the shade and had some chats and pats. I told him how being out side was a bad thing, but I am glad he came up to me to say hello!

So Riley and I took off. I had another easy walk in mind for my own benefit as I was still feeling sore and sorry for myself after a hospital visit. Plan A was to walk along some pathways and visit another park not too far away.

As I expected, Riley and I got to the park pretty easily and we were both feeling pretty good, so we just kept on going. There wasn’t really that much of a plan after that, so we ended up doing a crazy lil bunch of loops that took us on a pretzel shaped route!

It was quite fun really. We saw some cattle egrets by a pond and had some shady rest breaks. We stopped for a quick drinks break but kept on going.

By the time we got home I was surprised how far we had walked. Not for Riley… he cruised the walk! It was me I was worried about. But with Riley’s help time and distance just passed us by… no problems at all!
