15.03.15 Phil
Phil greeted me at the gate this morning, so that’s always nice. He may have heard me coming and jumped out the back door and ran around… it’s nice to see you too Phil!
We headed off towards one of the watercourses we haven’t been to for a little while now. So I had a plan. What I hadn’t planned on was the other watercourse that I love. As we walked past it I remembered that it had been mowed golf-course-style so it was back up and running! It had been even longer since we went up or down this watercourse, so there was plan 1.2!
We walked up one of the watercourses that we can to a big loop towards home in one direction . We got to about the midway point and the idea of walking down the other watercourse got the better of me, so we sorta about-faced and went back following the watercourse line.
Along the way there was a paddock of horses. Phil isn’t a great fan of horses, but he was brave and we said hello to one…though not too close… I think Phils bravery has some limits!
Then we headed off again and along the way saw a lot of pigeons! But they were all on the otherside of a well fenced off area. It didn’t really stop Phil from trying to climb through the large wire mesh! No Phil we might get a pug or foxy through there… but not a big guy like you!
So we were resigned to watching pigeons taunt Phil from the wrong side of the fence!
Along the way home we even saw a cat dart off into a drain! Now I know why Phil likes drains so much! Apparently Phil is ok with cats out of the yard…it’s just when they are in His yard it becomes an issue. I have never seen Phil get really excited about anything but pigeons so the kitty was safe!
We left the cat to it’s drain…after a thorough investigation and headed home! The hill-climb was a thirst making hill, so Phil dived into the water bucket. He didn’t drink as much as last week, so todays hike wasn’t too taxing… I’m sure he still will take a nap today though! Good walk Phil.
