17.03.15 Fergus and Zara
Once again, I arrived at Fergus and Zara’s place before the sun peeped over the hills. So we had plenty of light to make our way to the bushland trails.
Zara was there to greet me this morning and she met me all tail waggly and ready to go. But no Fergus! I looked for him all over the place and called him…still no Fergus! Oh no… I’ve lost Fergus! But just as I was going to crawl in the doggy door…or call out the dog-detective… Fergus came trotting out with a big grin on his face….!
Phew! So after that lil heart attack (I still have no idea where he was hiding) we headed off. I was very happy to see Fergus and he seemed fine…so it was all good! On the trip out… Fergus kept looking at me, very intently. I didn’t work out what it was until we had reached our halfway mark… where we have a few lil treats!
Normally as we get ready for our walk, Fergus and Zara’s mum and dad left some treats to take, and I take some and place them in my pocket as quick as I can… which is pretty slow to a retrievers nose! But Fergus didn’t see me load up… so for the first part of the walk…he was checking in on me… did you bring the snacks Mike?, did you bring the snacks!?
What he didn’t know, was that we had eaten all the snacks left behind for them, but I carry some for special occasions. So out of my doggy-survival-backpack I handed over the small ration for them both. Fergus was relieved and Zara was happy anyway!
We walked along the bushland tracks, a little further today, so its nice to see just what is in there. I am definitely going to have to take some of my other fur-friends there for a walk sometime. So thanks for showing me around Fergus and Zara. Nice walking today too guys!
