Muriel set me a fast pace out of the blocks this morning, so she was in fine form for a big walk…so we headed for the river!

I may have mentioned before, that Muriel is usually a tiger-hiker and not much slows her down. There were a couple of walks a while back where we we doddling along. That’s ok but unusual! Well today was not one of those days for a doddle!

We headed off along some cycleways up behind some paddocks, Usually there are horses there, but there was some heavy machinery putting in drainage and irrigation ditches. So the horses were off in another paddock. Muriel and I turned with the fenceline and followed that down to the water.

Muriel is usually a water baby, but she had a vet visit that required no swimming for a little while. No to be too hamstrung…I thought we could at least dip the toes in and only go paws deep! Muriel seemed fine with that so at least she got to get her feet wet!

After a bit of a splash about we headed off back up to cross one of the cycle paths and then follow one of the roads. There is a nice section of trees along the way and Muriel and I hadn’t been along that way for a long long time. So we thought we’d take a look. Some times Muriel prefers not to go this way…. But I tricked her bay starting at the other end. We crossed the main road again and followed another path for a little way and then looped home.

I love my morning walks with Muriel. We have seen some nice sunrises, but today she set a cracking pace in the opposite direction. So much for a nice casual walk in the early morning! Thanks for the nice long walk Muriel…hope you enjoyed your paddle in the water…. See you again soon.
