19.03.15 Billy

Billy and I went for a bit of a look around the new development. It was a warm day out there today so we had a few nice shady stops…Billy selected of course!

I am sure it won’t happen overnight, but soon Billy and I won’t be able to walk along one of our usual routes. It once was a quite nice walk over looking farmland and had a favourite swimming hole, but now it’s all under the shovel (Great Big Ones). Though I am guessing there will be plenty to look at ones home building starts!

So we followed the fenceline along as far as we could. The smell of sheep resting under the trees wafted over us… I’m not sure what Billy made of all that sweaty sheep and lanolin, but he was more interested in things closer to his nose. There are lots of scents to pick up on along fencelines I imagine. All those critters running along it until they find a gap in the fence and squeeze under.

I’m not sure where the mob of roos went but they have skedattled, there is still some sort of wildlife holding Billy’s attention…I’ll have to ask him what it is!

The “trail” stops at one of the small watercourses and the scrapings and street set-outs start. There was a big piece of machinery not far in and not doing anything so we stole a pic of Billy nearby. It was warm out there today and the Fence-line walk is a little sparse on vegetation and shade spots, so on the way home we did a backstreet shuffle.

The return home was quite nice, as we stopped under trees and had a drink or two. Billy is getting the hang of my shady-spot rest breaks. He was picking them too today.

I just did the calculations and billy is only a short distance from walking over 300km with me! Not a bad effort for a guy with short legs…just like me! Well done today Billy…we’ll smash the 300km barrier early next walk!
