19.03.15 Riley

Today Riley and I went on one of our longest walks so far. He was bright and energetic and a little less bossy today, so we have Riley firing on all fours again.

Riley had been feeling out of sorts a lil while ago, so I have been taking it easy on the lil Guy! So today I was thinking we’d try and push a little further out. I kept checking in on him and offering rest breaks but he was happy to keep charging along. We made it to the end of one part of a watercourse so we decided to keep going rather than do a “there-an-back”. But to keep going meant we’d have a bigger loop.

Riley soldiered on and we shade hopped and rested as we went. We had a couple of drink stops along the way, but Riley didn’t drink too much. He’s not a big drinker in any case. When we get home he is usually more interested in flopping in his cool shady corner than diving into the water dish.

So we did the big loop add-on and we actually made really good time. Riley the power walker! Believe it or not I had to add another detour so we would complete the allotted time! So we headed for a bunch of shady spots and had the last of the waterbreaks. Riley was still keen to keep going, but it was home time.

Its good to see Riley busting out the high energy walks, I thinks he will rapidly accumulate the K’s! good job today Riley. See you again soon
