22.03.15 Phil
Phil and I had a monstrous walk today! We got a bit sidetracked, but in the process Phil has now walked 210km and helped me pass 1700km!
Today Phil and I were heading towards the Dog Park. I was attempting another casual walk…you know…just chill, have a leg stretch and come home. But sometimes Phil and I just gun it! We don’t mean to…it just happens!
We were heading for one of the cycleways, and then jump onto the levee. Along the way we saw a flock of sheep grazing in one paddock, some cattle in another, and then in another paddock further along we saw horses… but the horses are always there. So that was a bit exciting… I don’t think we have seen sheep there before. I like my strolls in the countryside, we are very lucky out here in Bathurst! Lots to look at as you walk.
Phil didn’t really notice the livestock all that much today. For some reason there was a lot to smell. Just one of those days I guess? Phil isn’t one to just spend his time sniffing about, but there must have been some interesting scents to get hold of! So we checked a few out to see what was what.
So we made it to our destination, and normally we would do a back street shuffle that isn’t necessarily a short-cut, but it is the most direct route home. But I had this crazy idea of re-tracing our steps the way we came.
It wasn’t so much as a mistake…but an over estimation of both our Sunday morning fitness levels! Phil never complains…he’s like that! I was whining about hills and being old a few times…Phil said nothing. But we were both taking it easy up that last hill!
When we did finally make it home…just a little late… Phil had a big drink while I was there…and by all reports he was flopped out on the floor! Good result I reckon, hey Phil? Though next time, we’ll keep an eye on the watch… it’s just too tiring not to!
