23.03.15 Ji
Ji was very sociable today, and just wouldn’t continue on until he’d said hello to some walkers! He seemed just fine with the extra attention and the pats!
We headed for one of my favourite watercourses again. The plan was to get to the bottom and then take the walk back up the way we came. We had just crossed into the watercourse when two walkers were coming up and Ji just wouldn’t keep going until he had said hello. Funny guy! We ended up chatting with the walkers and they said how good looking Ji was…which ji, I am sure liked as much as he liked the extra attention.
We did manage to separate ourselves from the walkers and we headed off past some horses that live in the next paddock. When he has to, Ji can be pretty quiet. And we tested out his quiet switch. We slowly approached a horse with a few steps, then sitting and some more steps and sitting. We got very close and then the horse came up even closer. Ji so wanted to get closer, but I thought we were close enough for Ji… his very jumpy happiness could be misconstrued by a wary horse.
Ji did very well, and he was very excited for a little while after our hello with the horse! But we knuckled down and kept walking.
We made it to the bottom of the watercourse and headed home. When we arrived home after a slog up the hill, I think Ji had had enough! The sprinklers were on at home and after a very big drink, he flopped right in front of the oscillating spray. When I said we should go…he just rolled over and looked up at me as if to say…. Noooo....it’s so nice here! So we sat in the sprinkler for a lil while longer.
I must remember to try and take Ji to a swimming hole some time…I think he’d like that!
