25.03.15 Diesel

Diesel and I went and played in a big wide open spaced park. We got out into the middle of it and practiced drills and recall.

Diesel and I have been going to the Dog Park lately, but there are usually too many distractions to do too much constructive there. Especially when you are as keen to play as Diesel is. A little bit of Diesel can be too much for some visitors there! So we went out into the wide openspaces of another park.

We drove to the park and walked out into the middle and did some drills. Then I unclipped Diesel again and away he went. He is always careful to look back at me and changes direction when I do. So he does a great big wide arc around me! It also means that if I run off in the opposite direction… I have a 60m head start on him….

But this is Diesel and he runs me down in seconds! Man he can move quick!

He would come when called and we’d wrestle and jump about… have some pats and then off again. We did this a fair few times and after so much hard work (we were doing this for almost an hour), I made a big extend-o-lead and we lapped the park!

Diesel was doing so well, that we did a lead free run again. Although a little distracted I came when called and we looped the park again.

Diesel is able to get lots of work done when we are out on our own, so we had a great walk, Play and work! Good job Diesel.
