26.03.15 Riley
Today Riley and I went further away from home in the opposite direction to the other day’s long walk. We even visited one of my friends and said hello!
Riley was very happy to see me again too. The rain the other day had called a halt to play and we each sat out the downpours in our own dressing sheds. So riley was very happy to see me. He loves getting out and about in his own way. He’s not a very excitable boy But definitely has his own ideas on where we should go!
We usually mix it up a bit, just to keep Riley on his toes. He does like to stick to familiar paths. I usually get him to go my way for the first half of the walk, then we sort of go via Riley’s choice!
Today I wanted to see if we could make it all the way over to where I walk one of my team members. They live relatively close to each other, well a couple of K’s, so we overlap some loops, but we hadn’t gone over to the “fenceline walk” as I call it. We trotted along to the halfway time marker and along the way we said hello to Billy.
Riley is a very quiet and shy boy, so he was a little aloof. Billy really wanted to say hello once he knew who I was, but Riley wasn’t so sociable in his quiet determined way…he just wanted to keep going!
We headed for home but made light-speed good time and ended up doing a lap of a cricket oval, before heading home. Riley chose most of the paths home so I think he was happy with that! Good walking today Riley!
