28.03.05 Fergus and Zara

Today I got to fill-in for Fergus and Zaras walkers. I got a call the day before asking if I’d like to stand-in and take a walk with my two retriever friends?

Fergus and Zara are great fun, so I didn’t have to think too hard! They really love their walks as the main area we walk in has lots of kangaroos, possums, bird life, and of course …Rabbits!

We headed off to the bushland reserve and along the way we may have picked up some scents of rabbits. Zara is always very keen to investigate! Fergus is usually happy to keep going unless Zara gets really excited about some scent or another and then he investigates too!

So we squeezed through the fenclines (they really are only meant for 1 person / dog, but inevitably we all go through together! Then we follow any one of the tracks that loop around, through or head off in all directions. We were making good time so we had some good views. The sun was up by the time we got to the top of the hill, so it was very pleasant indeed.

We shared some snacks out at the halfway time marker. Fergus and Zara were telling me it was halfway from about the 5 minutes to go marker…so they know their stop points!

Along the way, we investigated a lot of fresh scents. Of course there were plenty of Roos about but they aren’t too exciting for Fergus and Zara! We may have found some leavings of possums…but we really got excited about the scents of rabbits a few times along the path!

I always love seeing “my” Dogs excited and happy and exploring along our walks. I think Fergus and Zara always have a great time out on their walks. Another great walk guys…thanks, and see you next time!
