Phil and I got to see some birdlife today… we got a little fright to get our hearts started, when a lone duck took flight near us! Don’t worry Phil, I’ll look after you!
Today I was on a bit of a mission. With all the cars about near the miniature railway, I thought we might take a squiz and try and get some pics with Phil towering over scale model trains! Though when we got there, it was just all the folks going to tennis.
All good, Phil and I made a plan to head for the Dog park, and see how we were going for time.
We did have a nice walk through one of the parks with a playground. There were a few BBQ’s going, so from then on all I could think about was a sausage sizzle…! But we continued on, passed the tennis players and down towards the river.
I was thinking that we might go down to the river where Phil and I had been before, but there was a small track leading in the opposite direction. I asked Phil what he reckoned about exploring the track, but he was busy with investigating a scent we had been following.
Phil and I headed down the well-worn track and it was looking promising, but we got to a point maybe 10m from the river and the track stopped and became all over-grown and a blackberry bush sealed our fate… we couldn’t go any further.
We could see the river too, it looked like a big deep hole was on the otherside of the blackberry hedge. I suspect there was no way down to the water. I also think it was a big drop to the water rather than a nice beach. So with that little exploration done, Phil and I back-tracked and headed for the levee again.
This was the point on the last walk that we could decide the long way home of take our zig-zag back street shuffle again. We got home a bit late the last walk so I though we’d better take the short cut home. We did however take the steepest route home, so that turned into a challenge!
We made it home all pretty happy. Phil was charging up the hills and he didn’t flop in a big pile this time … well… not for long. He was up and about when I left, so that was a good sign!
Good job again today Phil…!
